Kansas People’s Agenda Rally in Topeka

Because of the ongoing crisis in the state of Kansas and the uncertainty of what direction our country will be headed in the next four years, a coalition of various citizens groups and individuals have organized to let their collective voices be heard on issues of importance to Kansans:

  • Racial & Indigenous Justice
  • Economic Justice
  • Adequate & Equitable Public Education
  • Healthcare Access
  • Anti-Corruption Policy
  • Environmental Stewardship & Sustainable Agriculture
  • Criminal Justice Reform
  • Gender Equity
  • Responsible Gun Policy
  • LGBT Rights
  • Voting Rights
  • Immigrant Rights
  • Infrastructure Investment
  • Children Protection
  • Religious Freedom

This is your call to action! We need people to take part in the Kansas People’s Agenda 2017 Rally at the Kansas Capitol Building on January 11. The rally begins at 10:00 am (arrive at 9:30 for security check). We are expecting between 1000- 2000 people to attend this event.

During the rally, a group of diverse speakers from across the state will talk about the 15 agenda items. There will be musicians and singers performing various songs for inspiration and support of the issues.

At the end of the rally, you may (in groups) visit the offices of our legislators and personally present a copy of the Kansas People’s Legislative Agenda. For those who can’t attend, you may participate by either by emailing or phoning your legislators that day. This will be a coordinated effort. More information will be provided on the email/phone effort at a later date.

Please RSVP for the event. Invite everyone you know to participate by either attending or email/phone. You can contact one of the KPA members of the organizing team by emailing us at: kspeoplesagenda@gmail.com.
